It was with a decade’s experience of styling and designing for brides that Mach Made bridal was born. We realised a common occurrence in the typical “Wedding Dress search”. Most brides would love the tops of one gown and the bottom of another. A concept that many wedding dress designers, still to this day, do not offer.
We found brides would struggle to create their perfect dress and would settle for less for one of four reasons:
1. Industry designers could not facilitate such changes
2. Custom order gowns often blow the budget
3. Finding the perfect combination, meant weeks of bridal fittings, which could only be attended on weekends for brides who work during the week, not to mention difficulties in even securing an appointment at the local bridal stores.
4. Brides felt pressured to order their less than perfect dress due to extensive production times and “Fear of missing out”.
While we understand that good things take time, we do not believe in settling for less. Inspired by the experiences shared by our brides, Match Made Bridal was born to revolutionise the “Wedding Dress Experience”.
In our attempt to build a perfect solution for our savvy bride,
our seasoned design team decided to literally deconstruct the wedding dress, designing a series of tops and skirts, which would offer over 260 variations.
To BETA our concept we partnered with multiple retailers around the world over a 6 month period to garner feedback from real Brides. While our team offered the option to build the two pieces as a gown, we were blown away by the results of our BETA… It turned out that the whole two-piece thing was a swimming success and 9/10 Brides who played our game of Mix & Match preferred to custom order their pieces as separates.

The Feedback
The feedback from our real Brides was wildly entertaining, from early days where we had Brides refusing to wear a top and skirt, then falling head over heels with our concept, to brides coming in and wanting to crop our bodices shorter for a BOHO beach look.
The experience taught us so much about how much we need to educate our brides about the theory of separates, and how lucky we are in this day and age to cater to such forward thinking clientele. We understand that there is such a prestige around “The Dress” but as millennial’s and bridal entrepreneur’s we’re going to stick to our guns and your real-time reviews.
